From bedroom production to Internship at Rittenhouse Soundworks

Jordan was making beats and producing for his siblings who also rap, then started doing EDM and became interested in the genre. Over time, Jordan's ambition began to take him further into the music world. Jordan found Sound Academy on Instagram ads and was skeptical at first, but decided to inquire anyway. “When I got the call, it really helped me realize that if I applied for different opportunities that I saw, I could do it. Receiving that call really helped with my confidence.” Thanks to Sound Academy, Jordan was able to learn the ins and outs of ProTools and take his sound to the next level, especially when it comes to the EDM scene. Acquiring sufficient mixing and mastering skills would be critical to its success, Sound Academy came up with a solution.

The Sound Academy experience

Jordan reflects on the community aspect built here at Sound Academy. “It's so hard to find people who have a passion for the music that I have. It was a real eye-opener to see that there are people like me here.” The practical approach to the training greatly improved his sound and allowed him to improve his position in the music industry. He was also able to connect with sound engineers at Rittenhouse Soundworks, which led to his internship in the very studio where he trained.

Experience and results

Jordan is a talented and motivated artist who completed the 8-week audio engineering course at Sound Academy. Originally from Philadelphia, Jordan came to our program with a passion for music and a desire to sharpen his technical skills in audio production. For two months, he immersed himself in practical training, mastering industry standard tools like Pro Tools and gaining valuable knowledge in engineering and sound production.

Jordan is thankful for the opportunity he had with this internship he got. “Without Sound Academy, I would never have even applied to Rittenhouse Soundworks.” Thanks to his dedication and hard work, Jordan not only completed the program, he excelled. His exceptional performance earned him an opportunity: an internship at Rittenhouse Soundworks, one of Sound Academy's partner studios in Philadelphia.
